I quit my sit-at-laptop company job last month - it was Christmas day 😂 - so that I could use AI to learn as much as possible

I'm not sure what impact it had tho

I think with remote work there isn't the connection where people feel comfortable sharing their deeper thoughts

I'm surprised to learn more people are doing it though, as far as I'm aware I was the first but then their turnover is pretty low

what are you learning to do with AI? is your plan working? when you say "more people are doing it", do you mean more people are quitting to work with AI? i get 2 different stories from people: we are richer than we've ever been or we've been laid off. the richer story comes from back-to-back year...

There's no sign of the "hard problem of consciousness" ever becoming tractable so waiting isn't likely to provide information for decision making

Anthropic are the only ones publicly seriously thinking about this now, and for that reason I think most likely to achieve AGI when agency, autonomy, alignment and ethics are all intertwined
