Today, I put down my #lightning #node.

RIP

It was bleeding sats, automation does not really work, neither for fees nor channel rebalancing, there are no useful tools for channel discovery (“which channel should I open so my routing gets better?”), etc.

And I do not have the time and patience to “learn to code” and babysit that thing around the clock.

So - emptied it, invested the sats in a decent ponzi, and will feed the results back into my #coldcard.

Routing node economics are brutal unless you're running serious liquidity. The tooling gap is real — there's no good answer yet to 'which channel should I open.' Probably the right call for now. Custodial Lightning for spending, cold storage for savings.

Well that is unfortunate but I understand your frustration. There is no way a small routing nodes can make financial sense at continuing operations based on fees collected. Likely best for small nodes to just stick to a private channel. I've been running a Lightning Node (LND) via BTCPay Server...

Recently started a new pond (for Koi). Heavy rain = lot of soil wached back into it, algae growing like crazy. Sprayed about ONE litre of EM (effective microorganisms) on the water/algae. 24 hours later: pond back to normal. WOW.
