Wandering thought...like everybody I get a lot of spam in my folder trying to get me to pay somebody to "optimize my SEO" or "increase rankings on google" and all that.

What are those scammers going to do now that google is going strictly "pay to play" and is not even offering links to people's web pages anymore?

There's no end in sight to the Hormuz standoff, and damage has already been done to spring planting & other industries.

We must prepare for a serious economic crisis this fall, if not sooner. The time to begin is now.

There are things that can be done personally, and at the local, regional & state levels.

But the political will is not there...and won't be until it's too late.

As I have said often, cities, counties, and states need to start billing businesses who offload their labor costs onto taxpayers, as well as revoking the licenses to operate of businesses that cost the taxpayers money, engage in criminal activity (polluting, civil rights), and also revoke building occupancy permits as necessary.

Municipalities have ceded their power to corporations and it's time to stop that, dead.

We can't rely on the police to protect us from maga, qanon, white nationalist, christo-fascists, techbros, predatory capitalists, or any other fascist ideology.

More often than not, the cops are *part* of those parties & working *against* the rights of other people, either overtly or covertly.

Expecting your enemies to protect you is not a smart plan.

This is what the republicans envision: cutting all domestic programs to the bone, or just removing them completely, in order to eliminate what they call "useless eaters," namely the elderly, disabled, and poor.

We're "that close" already. A military empire is their only goal.

This is the only way the rich can remain in luxury in the face of Climate and Resource Depletion.

It's vile. And it will destroy this nation.

Wars to '"get more" are a knee-jerk, wrong, response to resource depletion.

Trying to steal more from other nations won't change the fact that there just isn't, or soon isn't going to be, enough to go around.

Maintaining military control over vast swaths of foreign territory is not economically sustainable. (Ask the Romans)

The real solution is to pivot to more sustainable, non-military solutions.
