I forgot to mention that a few days ago, I found my Graf von Faber-Castell Rhodium Guilloche pen that was mysteriously missing somewhere in my house. It had somehow fallen into a box of spice jars.

It was one of a bunch of them I purchased as gifts for my wedding party in 2002. For years, I carried it as my "nice" pen for signing credit card receipts in public, but then they stopped requiring signatures, so it just stays home.

I have the rollerball version, but filled with a ballpoint refill.

I have been using the same ink for over 13 years, in the same #fountainpen for 9 years, Mrs. Stewart's Concentrated Liquid Bluing in a TWSBI ECO, before that in a Platinum Preppy converted to eyedropper fill. 13 years ago I was the same age this YouTuber is today.

Mrs. Stewart's and a TWSBI ECO fulfills every need I have for a fountain pen on a daily basis. It is widely available in the US, inexpensive enough that I don't fear loss, theft, or damage.

With #slopmachines being accepted for contributions to the #Linux kernel and #Debian, it is only a matter of time before computers are no longer useful. We had a brief shining moment in the Sun.

You should know that Linux pretty much runs the majority of the servers in the world, at this point, and Debian is the basis for many of the most popular Linux distributions, including Debian itself, Ubuntu, Linux Mint, and Raspberry Pi OS. Both projects are intent on polluting the codebase with slop.

That Taiwanese Ji Pai was awesome. It was the flavor of Chinese restaurant fried chicken I grew up with. I did not bother with egg, just dredged it in potato starch (no sweet potato flour in the house), and it was perfect.

In other news, I finally got a new Park Tool chain cleaner kit for my bicycle, and felt well enough today to actually open the box and think about using it.

The bad news is, I've neglected drivetrain maintenance for so long that my freewheel probably needs replacing, or at least a complete rebuild, but honestly, who has time for that, when a new freewheel from China is so cheap?

I just need to double check the specs before I order one. I'm sure I need a new chain, as well.

I was at one point considering the D-Link DSR-250V2. Is there anything else out there that's reasonably priced and reasonably secure? Are there any #FOSS solutions for this? #networking
