This goes WAY beyond "job displacement", though.
The digital commons ARE being enclosed-- and the parts they can't fully control, they are destroying. "AI" slop is a signal jammer, poisoning the wells of information with toxic digital chaff. They don't want any communication, education, or trade to happen without passing through their gates.
Moreover, it's getting harder and harder to access our own home computing-- they're manipulating the availability of hardware, aiming to stick us all with little terminals that can't do anything on their own without access to the cloud computing, again through their gates.
And then there's the surveillance, those big data centers analyzing all the footage and speech and data they can find in order to target people for much worse things than advertising. No privacy.
At least in the ancient civilizations pre-capitalism it was still somewhat possible to pack up, head into the wilds and establish a new village outside the oppressors' reach. Enclosure buttons all of us in until "There is no alternative".
Exploitation, theft, and cruelty have been around a long time. Capitalism is the most successful system for maximizing it to planetwrecking levels. And then there's the layers of patriarchy, colorism/racism etc, all the different criteria a supremacist culture uses to stratify everybody into rulers and peons.

They actually seem to think self-awareness-- not to mention empathy-- is like some kind of disease. They don't even WANT to understand their OWN minds, much less anyone else's.
Of course, getting any kind of glimpse down into the festering cesspits of loneliness and fear in their own souls-- much less recognizing any of the abuse and suffering they're responsible for-- has got to be truly terrifying. The longer they neglect it, the worse it gets, so they really feel like they're WAY beyond any point of return. Lashing out at others, lashing out at themselves-- all these wannabe Nazis online watching rekt videos and pretending they're funny as they try to desensitize themselves to anything human.

I was looking forward to getting to play with that tech SO MUCH. I used to have oodles of fun just with stunt kites, a drone with VR goggles would be such a joy...

Plecos are spiky and their scales are really rough! That can't have been comfortable. Bird had to finish swallowing it though, no going back with those fin spines.

When my dad was a kid the local ski resort would get 24 FEET of snow.
This year it barely got 24 INCHES.
Glaciers are not supposed to noticeably shrink-- like, from 20 miles away you look at a mountain and think oh shit that massive sheet of ancient ice over there is HALF THE SIZE IT USED TO BE-- within the span of a single human lifetime.
The climate science is right in front of everybody's faces and most of them can't even recognize wtf they're looking at.
