BITCOIN MINING IN KENYA!!! 🇰🇪⚡️

We recently visited one of the @GridlessCompute #Bitcoin mining sites in Kenya, which stands as one of the largest mining operations in Africa! It was an incredible experience seeing firsthand how Bitcoin mining can be a force for good.

During the visit, we explored how these mining machines are powered using Sisal Waste (Biomass). The process is a fascinating cycle of sustainability: Sisal Waste → Fire → Steam → Electricity. This proves that 🌍♻️

🚀 COHORT 10: FROM FIAT TO FREEDOM! 🚀

After successfully covering Chapters 1–5 on the evolution of money and the flaws of the fiat system, we finally reached the long-awaited milestone yesterday: Chapter 6: Introduction to Bitcoin! ⚡️📚

We were happy to have @WNyachikanda from @BitJracademy lead the session. She did an amazing job breaking down Satoshi Nakamoto’s vision, the importance of the #Bitcoin Whitepaper, and exactly why this technology was created for the world.

To get ready for the hands-on chapters ahead, our students have already started downloading their Bitcoin wallets. We want them ready to experience the power of peer-to-peer transactions first-hand! 📱

This cohort is showing incredible engagement. The journey to financial sovereignty is well underway!

BITCOIN UNCONFERENCE 03: Building the Future Together! 🇰🇪⚡️

We are excited to announce our next major event: Bitcoin Unconference 03, happening right here in Nairobi, Kenya, this April!🙌

In collaboration with and supporte @My First Bitcoin this Unconference is all about bringing together grassroots projects from across the East African region. Our goal is to strengthen the local #Bitcoin community by providing a space where young, upcoming projects can showcase their work, build their confidence, and learn directly from more experienced builders in the space.

This is a free entry event, and we’re super excited to be hosting over 10 grassroots projects that are making a real difference. Whether you’re a newbie, an expert, or a #Bitcoin educator, this is the place to connect, network, and grow.

BITCOIN MEETUP 08 WAS A SUCCESS! 🚀⚡️

We recently hosted our first meetup of 2026—and our 8th since launching our monthly program! A huge thank you to
Trezor Academy for the support

We had an incredible session in Thika Town.
@mukungufelix
led a deep dive into the evolution of money, an intro to #Bitcoin, and why #Bitcoin matters today.

Thanks to the Lightning Network, every attendee set up a wallet and practiced sending and receiving sats!

We kicked things off with a foundational teaching on Bitcoin by
@Felix .From the history of money to the unique value proposition of #Bitcoin, understanding the "Why" is at the core of our mission to create genuine Bitcoin awareness. 📚💡


Hands-on learning is key! We helped attendees set up the
@nprofile1q... App to demonstrate the difference between self-custodial and custodial wallets, and placed a heavy emphasis on best practices for safeguarding seed phrases

To bring the theory to life, we performed a live on-chain transaction on @nprofile1q... App. We tracked the progress on the @mempool
so everyone could see exactly how Bitcoin transactions are recorded on a public, immutable, and transparent ledger. ⛓️👀

A major highlight was our deep dive into cold storage. We demonstrated how to set up a hardware wallet, explaining why taking your private keys offline is the ultimate step in securing your wealth.

We then had people set up Lightning wallets like @Blink Wallet and
@Wallet of Satoshi and had everyone receive and send sats to each other. It's a great practice, as everyone gets to use Bitcoin and see how easy, cheap, and fast it is to move value! ⚡️🌍


We wrapped up by showcasing tools available in Kenya that make #bitcoin, the everyday money. Attendees joined our community on
@Fedi ,set up @nprofile1q... ,and some bought Bitcoin for the first time using @Bitika and learnt to spend it via @Tando.me .




It was a powerful start to the year! We can’t wait for our next meetup this February.

Fourteen days ago, we opened the doors for Cohort 10, and today registration is officially closed.

We are excited by the growing demand for #Bitcoin education, particularly in Kenya. We are happy to welcome a total of 362 registrants from Kenya 🇰🇪 337, Uganda🇺🇬 5, Sierra Leon🇸🇱 4 , Tanzania🇹🇿 4, Zambia🇿🇲 4, Brazil 🇧🇷 2, Nigeria 🇳🇬 1 , Ghana🇬🇭 1, Burundi🇧🇮, 1 , South Africa🇿🇦 1, Pakistan🇵🇰 1, Ireland🇮🇪 1 ! 🌍

Classes officially start tomorrow. Students will go through 24 sessions, meeting three days a week every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Bitcoin education is the backbone of all our developments, and we are happy to contribute to the growth of the #Bitcoin ecosystem.

We recently completed two excellent sessions with our Cohort 9 students focused on the technical side of #Bitcoin, led by
@D++ .Our students gained a deep understanding #Bitcoin transactions , from broadcasting to checking details on @mempool and finally grasping the mechanics of mining.

The best part was a fun game organized by D++ where students competed to find the nonce for a reward! In total, 18 students walked away with 47,000 sats in rewards. It was a fun and successful session, co-hosted by @Felix

We are happy to announce Session 21 of 24 for Cohort 9, featuring a special guest speaker. We welcome @Rachel from to talk about Bitcoin Mining. She will explain how mining is a good use of energy and how it secures the Bitcoin Network. The session will be co-hosted by @Felix
