and we can look at more primitive groups today to, and especially before the Whites took control of those places, to see something close to the worst case we could fall to - and we can learn from the past what software settings existed for mankind in the past

if you read about the past, and about any group other than modern Whites, a lot things that seem like basic common decency are revealed to be hard won advancements over the barbarity of the past

when we assume that which is good is the default, we risk taking it for granted and returning to the actual default by removing that which makes it possible for the burden and inconvenience it entails

how many children are killed each year in the "civilized" West for instance

we had thousands of years of culture to handle creating and enforcing the "shoulds" people ought to do - and very few of them were laid out explicitly

then the last few generations got rid of all of those systems so they could feel good in the moment and do unethical things without feeling bad
