@deutrino

small-time fedi trainwreck personality & long-abiding fedi development attempter. been here since 2017 and haven't accomplished a damn thing besides making friends :)

I used to work in 9-5 software engineering but found it wasn't for me, and then life took me on a ride. I'm still on that ride, and now trying to reboot as an indie developer.

meanwhile, the actual problem with water demand: stress on, again, *local* *potable* water systems is 100% solvable with regulations.

will regulating evaporative cooling out of existence in areas where it's not appropriate offset the water use with electricity use? yes it will. so regulate that.

finally, not all data centers even default to evaporative cooling *now* when this is just blowing up in public awareness. please for the love of god do some research.

I dont know about you, but I live in a country that can't even regulate the cost of freakin' insulin. In saying "it's 100% solvable with regulation,"...

the tiny black cat has become confident to yowl occasionally when she is murdering the paper packing material I put out for the cats since they all seem to love attacking it.

this is especially cute because she is a very small cat whose voice seems to have 2 settings: "tiny," and "lifetime of whiskey & cigarettes"

...FWIW, "physical AI" was always, and remains, part of Amazon's extremely long game ... they've been banking this entire time on being able to eventually automate warehouses & distribution centers to the same degree that data centers are today. this was never a secret.
