lmao, apparently in addition to the "omg he allows LLMs to be waved over the martini glass like a bottle of vermouth" drama, the GrapheneOS guy is also saying he's being persecuted by Codeberg due to their ban on cryptocurrency projects because Graphene accepts XMR donations?? 😆

...and, while I'm on the general topic, I haven't yet fully explored the alternatives, but I don't believe the last word has been spoken on #threadiverse implementations, particularly on questions like voting, moderation model, and perhaps community notes, etc. I suspect there may be room for other such features which I haven't thought of, too.

microblogging is the most-developed fedi paradigm (despite not having a truly tumblr-like; even Wafrn is only close) but it's not the be-all end-all.

just read most of the docs on the Beehaw documentation site - #Beehaw is a Lemmy aka #threadiverse server that formed in a mass migration from some prior server which itself was an alternative to corp social media. I hadn't looked closely before.

interesting project, allegedly they are trying to thread the needle and avoid dogmatic purity spirals while maintaining what looks to be a left-leaning character in 2026. dunno how well it's going but they do have some traffic.

somebody needs to invent a transgenic almond tree which grows almonds with omega-3 fatty acids in them.

nothing wrong with walnuts (which are the nuts that already have omega-3 in large quantity), but I love almonds and wish they were not devoid of fats which wind up as EPA and/or DHA after extensive enzymatic processing by my porksuit.

I've been in some phase of total collapse of what passes for my routines in space I have no control over, for ~5 weeks. this includes the biggest circadian rhythm upset in... hmm, I want to say probably 10 years or more?

so far this year has been, not quite a disaster, but not good. productivity very low. oddly that's from a rising-tide perspective - I've earned more working than since probably the mid-late 2010s - but compared to what I need to be doing, it's not even treading water.
