I really need to test @nprofile1q... out in anger, as in migrate to it on an existing site, not just throw it on a test subdomain (which works fine, and it's about half the size of WP).
I already use the Disable Gutenberg plugin on every new install, right after saying Goodbye Dolly. I don't miss any of that, and I definitely won't be missing the LLM APIs.

Before the patches were released, the recommended emergency fix was to firewall off all the login ports: WHM, cPanel, and a few others (including Webmail).
Those login services are independent of the main httpd that serves up the hosted websites, and they must share a similar code base, with the same vulnerabilities.

I'm the same with firewood. I saved a few old gardening buckets (the general purpose ones made of soft plastic) with broken handles. They are now upside down, leaning back on their handles and wedged in so they can't blow away, and I'm using them to store bark chips.
