I plan to shut down my Nostr relay at at.@Nostr Works Relay.com (the first, and still only, relay located in Austria). If anyone is interested in taking it over and continuing to run it for the community, please contact me. I also own nostrich.at, which I'm looking to find a suitable home for within the Nostr community. Thanks! 🙌 #relay #austria #nostr nostrworks

It’s not just one file. It’s easy to create the json, but there’s no explanation where the public-html folder has to be for an addon domain like in my case. And yes neither DNS entry nor this solution are something a regular user understands. nostr:nevent1qqst0af3rxlp0lcfykzksz2eclwgpfz8dr0jvu...

It is mainly about protecting free speech: it strengthens editorial independence, makes media ownership more transparent, limits state or political interference, and restricts surveillance of journalists to rare, legally justified cases.

The European Media Freedom Act does include provisions on surveillance and arrests, but the post makes it sound more extreme than it is. Arrests or surveillance of journalists are only allowed in very specific cases, like serious crimes or overriding public interest, and require legal approval.
