Do you know the source of info on this topic that answers the question that most Bitcoiners, affected or not, really want to know? Something something 2026 boating accident. Asking for a friend. Thx

Haha great ask. Technically our tax codes Internal Revenue Code (USA) and Income Tax Act (Canada). I reference the sections in the article that touch on the features of capital assets outside the legacy system that are self reported, you know personal property items such as gold, jewellery, art collectibles, etc. It's up to the filer to report it at their own caution.

Good article. But how would someone be able to “definitively prove theft on-chain” in a way that a normie tax office employee with a theft quota will understand and accept? Thx

Thanks for reading and the question. If you have proof of reserves attested by a 3rd party that helps (ie anchor watch). Beyind this right now I'm not certain as we're venturing into new territory. however could be a real forward looking opportunity I see coming out of that is a rise in these services from qualified 3rd party observers if xpubs etc. open to ideas to comment on!

If I'm understanding this correctly it doesn't even sound like the devs checked the bit count of their RNG at Coinkite (Coldcard) (ie resulting bits>=128). If that is the case that is serious negligence on Coinkite's part. Open source of their code may absolve them (somewhat) but my god that is such a simple check to put in as a condition of the code base. I want to be wrong but I suspect I might not be.
