It certainly would help improve the user experience. Fewer relays would give users a more comparable “centralized big tech” experience where things just work, likes and follower stats mean something, less unexplained gaps in the timeline, etc.

One of my favorite next generation IOS / iPad wallets is @AQUA Wallet by @JAN3. Low transaction fees, good privacy, secure, and they make it super simple to send and receive Bitcoin without having to worry about whether it is going over Bitcoin layer 1 or Lightning.
