What is money?

Here you see different forms of what we call money during the second lesson of #MyFirstBitcoin diploma for class #2 of Curaçao.

We show here matches, cigarettes, fiat paper money, pieces of paper, fruit. All can be used to transfer value.

Chapter 2 of the Mi Primer Bitcoin certificate tries to opens the minds and eyes of students: do you really know what money is?

What are its properties?

And based on this exercise we teach different properties of #Bitcoin.

Ready for lesson 2 of class 2 of Mi Primer Bitcoin. My first bitcoin.

We are going to talk about what is money? You see different paper fiat money here and I have included Monopoly money in between. Do the students really know what is money?

Have they thaught about this? Or have they been accepting paper for their whole lives whithout thinking about it?

We already gave them 5 dollars each in SATS. They had to download their Blink wallet and Wallet of Satoshi last week and ask 5 dollars to a faucet sponsored by family Peter Kroll’s BTC Curaçao Institute.

We already sent them 0.10 usd in the class ans the were able to send and receive sats on day 1.

#MyFirstBitcoin is a 10 weeks open source Bitcoin Education Certification and BTC Curaçao Institute is a proud node of this global community.

Today we are meeting at Esperamos Supermarket, one of the 92 businesses on Curaçao that accepts Bitcoin.

We go there with a shopping list of things we use in class 2, like water, oranges, coffee, milk and the students have to now show how they spend sats locally in a real life situation.

I will be recording this to show you #proofofwork what we are doing with #Bitcoin on Curaçao.

Btw thanks to all the work Peter Kroll is doing we jumped to number 3 on the leaderboard of BTCMap as the third country in the world accepting Bitcoin.

BTC Curaçao, family Peter Kroll has opened their Orange training center again.

We are part of the global Mi Primer Bitcoin Community that started in El Salvador, a network of open source education nodes in 40 countries.

Glad to put Curaçao on the map.

BTW we are ranked 3 in the world on BTC map in terms of Bitcoin companies per head of the population.

So there is a high density of acceptance of Bitcoin here in Curaçao.
