Purpose can be strategic and/or moralistic, but moralism will not help defend you strategically. Purpose is irrelevant here.
When you have no strategy, you'll end up with no power to enforce your morals.

Being a non player when others are playing is what most humans experience unknowingly. Not understanding that a game is being played, not being willing to learn the rules of the game, Dunning-Kruger-ing the rules or simply being ignorant of the existence of rules; it is clear that disqualifying oneself is the main feature. Opting out isn’t neutral: it’s a forfeit. #NPC #gametheory

I think it's garbage.
“You all see in the matter of coinage, in which it is felt that we have some interest, how we have even invented an art, and how many means the tester employs to test the coinage—sight, touch, smell, finally hearing; he throws the denarius down and then listens to the sound, and is not satisfied with the sound it makes on a single test, but, as a result of his constant attention to the matter, he catches the tune, like a musician.” -Epictetus (on validating #bitcoin blocks)
