Y’all, the new XeroLinux website is 🔥!

If I could code like that, I’d still be in I.T. instead of tromping around construction sites in work boots.

@nprofile1q... FANTASTIC work. I love EVERYTHING about the design. Really well done. Congratulations!

I love the card and subheading themes, I may just steal these for some of my own projects. An innovative Arch-based distribution designed to demysti...

Two free services which I used are #DuckDNS to give me a #URL and #LetsEncrypt to provide #SSLCertificates. I had to open up a #Port on my #Router for #PortForwarding and to make sure that the #HomeAs...

@nprofile1q... I could never manage to get any external access stuff working with reverse proxies and certificates and authentication (this was pre LLM-days), so I just installed Tailscale. Wow was that easy!

My homelab services are for me and my family anyway, so I just put Tailscale on their devices and added them to the same Tailnet. Done. I can even host my own control server with Headscale and not touch any Tailscale servers.

A couple weeks ago, I took someone's older windows 10 desktop that was taking 10 solid minutes to boot and was painfully slow after that... And converted it to #nixbook #linux This is a non technic...

@nprofile1q... This is intriguing. I’ve not heard of nixbook until I saw your post.

I’ve installed #NixOS on a spare laptop about a month ago, but I haven’t touched it since because of other projects, work, life, etc., and I haven’t been able to get my brain into learning mode.

Definitely going to check this out!

It’s been a good ride, #UltramarineLinux, but #Fedora has dropped support for the old broadcom-wl driver that Hardcase needs, so now I get “tainted kernel” errors.

I’ll be moving Hardcase all the way back to one of the very first distros that I used in the beginning of my Linux journey: Linux Mint. @nprofile1q...

I recently installed #LinuxMint on an old MacBook for a friend and was pleasantly reminded of just how easy and friendly and COMPATIBLE it is. 😉

All USB-C cables are NOT created equal! My solution? Color-coded cable ties.

I test a cable by attaching my external SSD and running `lsusb -t` in Linux, which reports the negotiated speed:

480M: USB 2.0
5000M: USB 3.2 Gen 1, 4.8Gb/s
10000M: USB 3.2 Gen 2x1, 10Gb/s
20000M: USB 3.2 Gen 2x2, 20Gb/s

I assigned a color to each speed, wrote it down in #Joplin, attached my cable ties, and now I no longer have to worry about a USB-C cable turning my SSD into an HDD.

The number of mainstream Debian-based #Linux disros with KDE 6 that aren't Ubuntu is remarkably small. Enter @nprofile1q... #TuxedoOS. Even though it's optimized for their hardware, it runs well on two of my old computers - quite a bit faster than my current favorite, #Fedora based Ultramarine Linux. I'm guessing its due to Fedora's use of SELinux, but I'm no expert.

Looks like another distro hop might be coming.

Wolffe sporting the COSMIC Alpha 6 desktop with COSMIC DROID icons by SethStorm666 (and a few I threw together for this screenshot).

I could get used to this pretty quickly. It looks like COSMIC is shaping up to be a nice middle ground between GNOME's austere rounded-corner aesthetic and KDE's option-heavy business-suit aesthetic.

Hey, #KDE devs: have a look at how #COSMIC is doing tiling and COPY IT.
