The "someone owns more than x% of the population combined" is a correct but misleading/useless metric.
Around 20% of US population have 0 or negative net worth.

Anyone who is debt-free with a few dollars in the bank has more wealth than that 20% combined (0+0+0=0).

If we ever need to bump Bitcoin fees for incentivising more miners (say in 2140), we can always enable a #NIP for "indestructible notes".

"Indestructible notes" are basically pointers to the note, while the note is published under OP_RETURN. This becomes easier with the on-chain wallets that have been popping up lately in Nostr clients.

I don't have a NIP, it's just an idea. What does #nostr think?

Any app with a chat function and without named accounts (does login with email cover this?) can be considered anonymous.

It depends on how they interpret it, but we've seen bans on freedom tech before, so I think interested parties should be prepared accordingly.

And that's what I'm talking about. What they say they mean by that, not what we speculate it could mean.

From what I'm seeing, not really. It isn't about removing anonymous chat apps in a vacuum. It is specifically about apps that set up people randomly to anonymously communicate that don't know who each other are at all. Things like signal, oxchat, nostr apps, wouldn't fall into this as it is currentl...
