I work in medical now because biology just pays like shit and our current admin is happy to cede our advantage to China and Europe. Everyone I know with a bioinfo job works for a euro company.

We apparently still have a shortage of bioinformatics researchers but every lab is mass laying off staff and those that are hiring are hiring at $50k a year salaries and demanding masters degrees and internships :eyes-1:
