@Mat B

Don't believe everything a little bird (X) tells you.

I'm a silly fucker.

Music, nonsense, random stories (always a story) and whatever comes to mind.

Not a racist, a homophobe, a transphobe or a bigot. Basically not a cunt (I do swear so if that is not for you, I'm definitely not for you).

Please add #AltText i.e. descriptive descriptions, to your pictures for visually impaired and all people. No decent description, no boost from me.

Happy Friday lovely Fedifolk ❤️

Currently listening to this absolute gem of an electronica tune from a couple of my all time favourite electronic music producers, Plaid. (This track was originally released under the name Tura, rather than Plaid).

A perfect example of their talent for making unique music, unmistakably their sound. A blend of simmering alien funk, with an emotional injection.

The reversed sounds, particularly the mid section, lean into a slightly angular psychedelic vibe, and then they hit you with the strings and flip it into an emotional whirl. Depending on my mood the strings are either mournful or uplifting. It's a journey I've been taking for 30 years and still love it as much as I did on my first listen.

Another horrific day with the family today. Unbelievable stress on us all and I have been fucking furious. Incandescent.

If you know me on here this is pretty much how I am in real life. A bit sentimental, caring, largely positive and trying to see a little bit of good around me. To be so enraged, speaks to the frankly heinous and unbelievable shit I've had to deal with.

I'm calm now and frankly have to laugh about seeing a toxic, narcissist literally turn the sweetest, most sensitive young man you could ever meet against their closest family. Eye opening and shocking doesn't begin to cover it.

Again, no need to reply, just putting it out here for my own sanity. Appreciate you all.

"Shithole countries" - the President of America talking about African countries.

When they tell you who they are, listen.

I love my North American friends, and I have many here and in meatspace, but this is some shameful shit.

Invite the world to visit you to boost your economy, and treat effectively VIPs like this? Embarrassing. The world is watching and you've shown your racist arse for all to see.

My life is pretty mundane most of the time but I just took a trip to the big Tesco on the outskirts of a boring market town that was quite an adventure.

First I was driving along a local A road, stuck behind a group of about 8 jalopies, chuntering along at 20 miles an hour, not typical traffic, some kind of rally for cars from the early 1900s.

Drove to the far end of Tesco's car park into what appeared to be a middle eastern wedding party, in the car park of a very white town. About 30 people, all dressed in suits and traditional dresses, very high end cars, people beeping car horns, dancing and clapping in the road to traditional music while a boy, probably about 9, played some traditional middle eastern clarinet type thing. I literally had to drive through the party. For context, there is no venue or even any houses nearby, it's an isolated, out of town store.

In Tesco I saw a little man, stood next to me at the tills. REALLY familiar but couldn't fathom where I knew him from. I knew he was a bit weird, and could actually hear his distinctive accent in my head. We said nothing. Bugged the hell out of me until as I drove away I remembered he is the builders mate of a guy who does work for us. He is extremely chatty. I didn't recognise him because he was clean and because he wasn't eating biscuits in my kitchen.

Lastly as I exited Tesco's onto the local bypass I was confronted with a massive pile of debris in the road, as I got nearer it was apparent the someone had left the supermarket with a large bag for life full of assorted groceries on the roof of their car which had exited when the put their foot down.

What an adventure!

It's not all rave oddessy, mysterious knives found in the woods, dogs emitting clouds of glitter, polystyrene appreciation, wheelie popping provincial teenage weed dealers, wonky dogs, extreme TV controller misplacements, music, and improbably lost shoes. But that's what you're getting.

There's plenty of other stuff going on. You don't need it, I don't want it. Putting it out here probably won't help.

This is not to say I don't want to hear others hurt, thoughts or feelings. I absolutely do and learn so much from people in situations I'd probably rarely encounter and/or get close enough to hear them.

I guess my point is, I just post the stuff I want to remember, which I hope just shares a bit of the good, silly shit I encounter. At the same time, this isn't Instagram, I'm not sugar coating life, trying to paint a perfect picture. I'm currently in a horrible situation but you can't help, so let's enjoy Cinderaver losing her fluorescent trainer/sneaker.

It amused me, being able to find such things keeps me sane.

Love you all. We're all in this together, even if it doesn't always feel like it. I suppose the whole point of this rant is that.

Rave Cinderella scenario here.

Firstly, how the fuck do you lose a shoe?

Secondly, how the fuck do you lose a shoe that could warn sailors away from the rocks?

If this isn't claimed by tomorrow morning I have further questions.

I didn't realise a friend also took a photo of the lost Cinderaver fluorescent shoe, but focussed on the general nighttime vista, and posted in a group chat. This comment was class. I can't believe it got noticed because the post never mentioned the shoe. https://media.beige.party/media_attachment...

Mrs B is trolling the Young Team in her own inimitable style. A pre-prepared mind fuck for the next time they roll in stoned after a visit to Mr Streets.

In our kitchen is a table with small drawers that everyone knows don't contain anything. Until now.

Mrs B has procured a tiny dolls house table with drawers, which now lives in the big table's middle drawer.

Inside the tiny tables drawer is a further surprise, a tiny packet of Rizla rolling papers, made presumably for a stoner doll.

The Young Team will casually be directed to the drawer at the appropriately wonky moment, for our amusement. 🫠

Weird/funny interaction today. I met up with my elderly stepdad at an aviation museum (his suggestion), lots of planes (naturally) and this being England, there was a big focus on WW2, because we love all that apparently.

So this staff member (an older guy, not a kid), approaches us and enthusiastically, and with authority, tells us about the Battle of Britain exhibition, reeling off facts. He then commented on my jacket, which he liked (it's actually based on old military designs).

I told him the material was ventile (assuming he'd know what that was), a cotton weave that the British air force introduced in WW2 for pilots, because although it was just cotton, the weave meant it drew water away from the skin and allowed them to survive a lot longer if downed in cold seas. A pretty neat way to carry the conversation on (which he started), frankly I didn't want to be there, but it was a pretty good gambit in museum small talk in my opinion.

Crickets. Fuck all interest. Maybe he thought I was lying. Who knows. But the truth is, he started a conversation about my jacket, weirdly my jacket had a relevant story to tell about his specialist subject, but because he's used to talking at people, rather than listening, he didn't actually learn something about the subject he blathers on to people about every day.

War bores.

I found the engineering fascinating, but the flag shagging tedious. The last display I looked at was an array of medals and uniforms. It was creepy to me. The whole thing made me uneasy.
