Hello,

Relatively recently someone requested that the network page automatically showed the new post after posting, without needing to reload. This was implemented by @Raroun . It was implemented in a way where the page was reloaded and the page scrolled to the top.

There was some pushback to this latter part, because some users did not want to lose scroll position as a result, so the scroll to top was removed, which effectively means the post isn't seen after posting. Instead a "Go to post" button was added, which scrolls to the top.

I'm wondering if we could slightly adjust that, so the page automatically scrolls to the top if one is at or very near the top - otherwise the "Go to post" button is shown.

Thoughts?

@nprofile1q... Someone just created an issue on that a few days ago:

Not sure what the server setting does yet, but what I would be inclined to do is to hide the tags from the post itself, and show them below, rather than the other way around.
It seems it's also what e.g. Mastodon does.

Mastodon also has a feature where it collapses tags above 3 of them into a "show more" which I think would also be a good idea.

@Montag I did make updates to that menu not too long ago but certainly didn't intend to remove that option.
On the created issue it seems the cause may be another PR, though.

@utzer They're not new in the compose editor but there's been changes to which BBCode buttons are available, they're available in more places (e.g. profile settings) and it's more consistent what the options are and how they look everywhere.

@utzer Based on your screenshot I tried to (re)improve how the BBCode buttons look at smaller viewports (e.g. phones) here:
github.com/friendica/friendica…

Of course that will only be on the develop branch for a while now, if it gets merged.
And there are even more UI changes on develop, so I don't know if you'd prefer that or not.

@Random Penguin I'm curious about it, too, and I'll get a user on an instance or set one up myself to see how thing swork.
I like the tech stack more than Friendica's as well, though I don't have personal experience writing in those languages yet.

At the very least Friendica and Bonfire could probably inspire and improve each other in terms of ideas/implementation, sharing such similarities in functionality.

How is git.friendi.ca working for you since we block lots of scrapers and crawlers? (Since about Sunday 22:00 CEST.) #Friendica

@utzer Seems to work! I had a couple of issues with "could not resolve host" trying to git clone, but then I just tried again twice and both of them worked.

I also tried to push a branch to an existing repo there and that one worked in the first attempt.
