@nprofile1q... Hmm, I'm a bit confused whether it's a surface shader. It doesn't seem to have #pragma surf but it does use the SurfaceOutputStandardSpecular struct. It calls LightingStandardSpecular inside its fragment shader. Does that make it a surface shader or not?

In Unity (builtin pipeline), how would I call CalculateLevelOfDetail or equivalent based on a sampler2d (and uvs)? All examples seems to use a separate Texture2D and SamplerState, but then I'd have to rewrite the whole shader to use those. Internally, methods like tex2d, which take a sampler2d, must get access to the SamplerState somehow, but I can't find anything about how to access Texture2D and SamplerState from a sampler2d...

So you'd need to change the related parts of the shader. "sampler2D foo" -> "Texture2D foo; SamplerState samplerfoo;", and then use...

@nprofile1q... yeah @nprofile1q... is doing good work in The Free Shepherd. Meanwhile the landscapes in my game are not *too* far off that third photo Aras posted, I think. Except you won't find landscapes without trees in my forest game. 😉

@nprofile1q... @nprofile1q... Regarding real clouds, the lit part of clouds keeps looking white far into the distance but the part in shadow should be visibly blue tinted in the distance I think. At least in my experience, including the clouds I’m looking at right now. :)
