The problem is the elite lose the most if the system fails. They are only elite while the system enforces property rights. Having elites is evidence of the system maintaining property rights and not being africa, where you put money in a bank and it disappears or you buy an investment property and your tenant just stops paying and won’t move out. Both states have issues, at least a fiat system that hasn’t failed gives the poor the option to own assets under contracts at all.
