how-- stick and poke

Why--cause I could 😝 but also cause it's personal, as an artist I love to make beautiful and weird things, so the idea of having permanent art within my own hands ability is important to me. And then the pain is up to me too.

Where-- the first I did was a cactus on my left inner leg just above my ankle, cactus as a symbol of resilience and growing where I'm planted and Utah desert. First the outline and then the color. Next I tattooed water flowing on my ring finger, a reminder to always allow love to flow through me. I was preparing for some major travel and as a solo femme I was aware that sometimes men lurk and that lurking men are only really afraid of other men, so a tattoo on my ring finger could buy me a little safety. Then I tattooed the word home on my sternum, twice. One that faces forward to be read by others, and the other is upside down so that I can look down and remember where my home is. I also added color and little whimsy to different tattoos I have that were done by others.

@nprofile1q... I’m sad that your father had this mindset. Art for me, as an artist, is following through on a pondering, just letting the curiosity guide me as I move a thought into something tangible. The next part, selling the art, isn’t something that a lot of artists are very successful at because we would rather be in studio than in a market yelling for people to notice what our quiet, thoughtful moments produced. Separate the art from the artist and we now have our own impressions of the art, we may never understand why the artist moved in the ways they do, and the artist doesn’t get the opportunity to see how their tangible thoughts have effected others. I’m really hoping that the use of LLMs will actually trigger a human made renaissance, as people remember the power of their own imaginations, out in a field beyond the thrum of data centers.

Human writing will be raw and messy, visceral words that pour into us. @nprofile1q... lays down the deference we're experiencing as some of our best writers are succumbing to the brain smoothing words of the machine, putting us at odds with our natural instinct, placing trust in a third party word machine that cannot understand our true nature. I hope many new writing groups pop up in the wake. https://sightlessscribbles.com/posts/the-colonization-of-confidence/
