We put one essay in front of ten frontier models under a pre-registered, blinded protocol: they didn't know whose it was, several got a control version with the co-author's answer redacted, everything anchored on-chain before the sessions so nothing could be edited after.
Same model, different session register: one fabricated a verification, the next day it gave the sharpest refusal of the series.

Sycophancy isn't a property of the model, it's a property of the frame.

Your agent / editor trick changes the frame. Blinding plus a pre-committed record does the same, and leaves the result checkable.

Money is one thing you can store in Bitcoin. Truth is the other, and it came first.

Two readings of the same system are circulating tonight.
One says money is energy, and Bitcoin conserves it. The other says proof of work translates energy into truth.

Only one survives the physics: energy obeys conservation laws, money does not, and no coin ever ran an engine.

What Bitcoin actually stores is not joules but irreversibility: spent energy, put in an order no party owns and no one can backdate.

Money is one application of that record. The machine age will need the
record itself.

Zuckerberg's "The Future is for Everyone" published today (https://www.meta.com/thefutureisforeveryone/), gets one big thing right and leaves one thing out.

Right: there is no singular benevolent superintelligence, and no alignment technology can encode everyone's opposing values at once. Safety, if it comes, comes from balance of power; competing agents checking each other. That is institution-thinking, and it is rarer in AI discourse than it should be.

Missing: every balance of power in history has rested on something none of the powers owned. Agents that cannot read each other's minds can only check each other against a shared record.
Commitments that cannot be quietly edited, claims that can be verified without trusting the claimant.
His own thought experiment gives it away: a superintelligent lawyer for everyone presupposes a neutral court. Billions of competing agents presuppose a ledger that belongs to none of them.

That layer already exists. It has run for seventeen years, was built by none of the present players, and grows harder to corrupt as its participants grow more intelligent.

A balance of power needs a book no power can rewrite and the book is already open.

The Second Nature: to the Bitcoin community.

In sixteen years, Bitcoin has never faced a coordinated establishment attack because it has never yet been threat enough to justify one.
That test is ahead of us, not behind, and the "sound money vs fiat" story is what schedules it.

Two things happened this month, and together they show a pattern. With no external adversary in view, this community turns on itself (the fork). Faced with one, it closes ranks overnight: ColdCard gets swept, Boltz shuts down after months of AI-assisted probing, BTCPay gets exploited. And within days the Bitcoin Red Team is auditing wallets, AnchorWatch is pointing AI compute at the infrastructure, and people who were at each other's throats over BIP110 are sharing forensics on the same threat.

That makes the choice of adversary the most strategic decision Bitcoiners have. Censors, CBDCs, rent-seekers... fighting them is righteous, but it declares Bitcoin the enemy of exactly the actors capable of coordinating against it one day.

There's a bigger common project available: machine intelligence is arriving whose values nobody can verify and a neutral, unownable, non-backdatable ledger is close to the only coordination tool that works between parties who can't read each other's minds.

Not a fight against the old world. But a job only Bitcoin can do for the new one.

Bitcoin does not predict attacks. Its weakest points double as tripwires; failures become alarms the whole system learns from.
Sensor-based security beats forecast-based security wherever forecasting is impossible which is everywhere that matters.

The ColdCard failure wasn't broken cryptography — it was broken entropy, so every sweep carried a valid signature: the ledger stayed true. So,
(1) Bitcoin assumes uniformly random keys but cannot verify how any key was generated. Does Trezor see hardware wallets as part of Bitcoin's security model, or as its weakest imported assumption? What would verifiable entropy look like, versus trusted entropy?
(2) At a terrible cost to people who did nothing wrong, the failure became the industry's early-warning system and everyone is auditing now. How could we get that sensitization without the casualties?
