I wrote a thing..

Algorithms are breaking the web, fueling polarization, depression, anxiety, doomscrolling, and shattering our shared reality.

The brilliant Sir Tim Berners-Lee says these flaws are design issues that may need regulation to correct their course.

I suggest the deeper issue is economic as well as design.

The internet — and the wider world — need a native, immutable, trustless money that re-aligns incentives.

With sound money, the VC model shifts, beating inflation is no longer the goal. Paired with open protocols (@fiatjaf), the ad model can be upended — and we can fix the web without regulation.

Stellar podcast...

Which included a very interesting discussion about private capital and SPVs.

It reminds me that there are clear regulatory and economic weaknesses in the current system which are directly causing many of the problems in society. Politicians simply aren't knowledgeable enough, aware and certainly aren't going to fix them.

Another that wasn't mentioned in the pod is quarterly obligations to shareholders on public companies.. As the fiat system is constantly eating into the profits, this obligation is only going to get worse.
