Basically Torvalds restated that he's not going to ban AI in development of the Linux-kernel, as long as people have read through the code, and the code is up to the generally held standard.

He specifically referred to AI finding new security holes that couldn't have been found by human eyes.

Personally I took this to mean that he didn't want to create a situation where people wouldn't send him security alerts due to fear of being repercussions.

The full quote by Mae West went "you only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough". Perhaps the removal of the ending gave some ambiguousness to the assertion.

Signalin viestihistoria katosi.

Olin tallentanut viestiavaimen kuvakaappauksiin Google Photosiin. Signal ei ollut suostunut lähettämään viestejä pariin päivään, joten uudelleenasensin ohjelman univelkaisena. Tässä kohtaa selvisi että uudelleenasennus esti viestihistorian avaamisen ilman viestiavainta.

Ja Google oli poistanut kuvakaappauksen kun olin taannoin (arvelen että univajeessa silloinkin) antanut Photosille luvan poistaa "tietoa sisältämättömiä" kaappauksia.

I feel the important bit is that it transfers the onus from Tovards to the contributors.

Ethical and environmental questions aside¹, the problem with LLM's is users who outsource their thinking, leaving others to verify usability. As verification is 90% of the work, the end-result is glorifying those who offload their work not just LLM's, but their colleagues.

Now if the code is bad (and LLM code usually is), it's the coder who's bad.
