Anybody got alternatives to uBlock Origin now that Chrome has banned it? The idea of using a web browser without an ad/scam blocker is out of the question.

You are correct that a browser without an ad blocker is out of the question. Therefore, the browser vendor should be responsible for filtering out this traffic. I am picking browsers with built-in ad and tracker blocking. I switch between Vivaldi (I trust the company 👍👍), Orion (I use their search engine 👍), and DuckDuckGo Browser.
Anyhow, my advice is that browser should have the ad blocker deeply embedded into it.
