Reticulum works well with android devices.
Gave up trying to get iPhone to work.

My party has mix of android and iPhone. Switched to meshtastic.

Mestastic only let's you send text messages.
Reticulum can send different types of data. Images, audio, command prompts, coordinates, as well as text based messages.

Check out ghoststrats on YouTube. He has some good tutorials for installing reticulum on your lora board and pairing with your phone.
