Strangers often praise me and my wife for how often they witness our children playing outside. Which is nice but it makes me sad because this should be the norm.

During the 2020-2021 Covid lockdowns, when the kids are all home from school, my oldest son was old enough to go out & adventure the neighborhoods by himself, but my youngest had to stay home most of the time, he was just too young, & I think that was the tipping point that shaped how they are today.
