I think that qualifying BIP 110 as an attack on Bitcoin is retarded.
I'm not an expert on this stuff, but going through the process they are currently going through seems to be what Bitcoin is all ab...
"Attack on Bitcoin" is probably a surrogate for "attack on me."
The reality is that Bitcoin is just code. Anything deeper is imposed on it by us, and individuals (understandably) tend to view themselves as what's right. So anything countering that is viewed as an attack.
It's a weird dynamic where each side is both attacking and defending the technology, which obviously is untrue.
That's not to say there aren't people with bad intentions. But I think it's mostly just people who disagree, and instead of killing each other, we're using a protocol to project what is most desirable within the marketplace. In my opinion, that's the innovation.
