I'm pretty confused what the right diet is.
Some say: " You need carbs to build muscle"
Others say: "Carbs are making you fat"
Some say: "You need healthy fats to lose weight"
Others say: "Even h...
Carbs are energy.
Fats are energy.
Protein is used for muscle building (which requires energy as well)
Fibre feeds your gut and intestinal microbiome which helps you get the best value from all the other food you get(if constipated more soluble fibre, if diarrhoea more insoluble fibre)
For high cardio exercise and body building carbs and sugars are helpful.
For low cardio exercise fats are better.
For weight loss increase protein and fats, reduce carbs, only eat carbs the day before or morning before intense cardio.
Always eat whole fruit and vegetables. Potatoes and other root vegetables are a better source of carbs than grains and unless they're fried or mashed it's hard to eat too much of them.
But most important thing is minimal processing.
Whatever processed foods you eat, ask "with the knowledge and experience could I make this myself in a normal kitchen with normal ingredients available to the public"
Like people can argue if seed oils for instance are inherently bad, but the refining processes themselves are inherently bad, for both the environment and human health.
Another good rule is that if it has more than 10 grams of sugars per 100 grams it should be avoided.
Even if a person just cuts out soda drinks from their diet and replaces that with water, it makes a world of difference to overall health and well being
