I get so depressed around my grandparents. Does anyone else feel this way? It’s like watching someone who gave up on life slowly die.

All my grandparents died when I was very young, so I have a very childlike, romantic memory of them.

I sometimes wish I'd known them as an adult, but then I look around at the old sods in my village and think three thoughts.

1. I'm gradually becoming one of them 😂
2. I've noticed I have to smile at my iPhone more each year to get it to unlock on Face ID 😂
3. I don't like them, because they are miserable about almost everything.

Next year I will be the same age as my grandmother was when I was born. I don’t know how I feel about that, but I know I feel way younger than she looked.

I only ever got to know my maternal grandmother, and I have some beautiful memories of her. Sadly, my paternal grandmother and my maternal grandfather—who were brother and sister—both passed away when they were still young. My paternal grandfather passed away before I was even born. I’ve heard...
