I get so depressed around my grandparents. Does anyone else feel this way? It’s like watching someone who gave up on life slowly die.

My dad will be 86 next month. I don't think he gave up on life, but I also realize the math means he doesn't have much time left. That makes me a little sad, but I also feel lucky to have had him in my life for so long.

I've only got 1 left (I had all 4 until 2015. I am so blessed.) and he's got really bad dementia. It's heartbreaking. His own mom died from Alzheimer's. He was always so quick witted and funny and it's painful to watch him fade away from us. He regularly told a story about me when I was a kid. He t...

I lost my both grandparents a few years ago. I am sorry to hear this sad news.

Yeah I know what you mean. It's mentally taxing to be around elderly people. Their deterioration reminds us of our own inevitable end; a memento mori.

I quit a job and moved back home to be around my granny when she was close to the end. I ended up staying there for 2 years while she hung on to life. I'm glad I was there to hold her hand a few last times, even though it hurt to watch. She couldn't say much, but I could see in her eyes that it mea...

Only one of mine lived long enough for me to feel that way. Not sure if that's better or worse.

I've always had a good time around mine. Got one grandpa left, he came to visit last week to meet his great grand son. It was chill.

Same, for me it's depressing watching them don't care about what's right and mostly about what's more useful now.

Craig completely transformed my trading journey. With his expert crypto and stock signals, I grew my capital from $13,000 to $128,000 while learning valuable trading strategies along the way. His consistency, professionalism, and market knowledge make him one of the best mentors I've come across. If...

It often is exactly the case - people find no point in living longer but are too scared to die so they wait for death to come when it will. Whether they do it openly or hide it is irrelevant. The people who are not like that have found their ikigai, their purpose in life. And to quote a book, if y...

All my grandparents died when I was very young, so I have a very childlike, romantic memory of them. I sometimes wish I'd known them as an adult, but then I look around at the old sods in my village and think three thoughts. 1. I'm gradually becoming one of them 😂 2. I've noticed I have to smil...
