There is near zero difference between the distro's imho. In the end they can all run steam/lutris/hero launcher (or whatever it's called). Apparently wayland is better than X these days but i do not really notice any difference. I went from plain ubuntu with a 2080RTX with X.org to a 5070ti with kubuntu. I think it had something to do with wayland being able to handle hdr and something else, but i have not screens that actually support that.

If you install the nvidia drivers everything else is just really minor and (for me) mostly unnoticeable differences.
