Cake wallet is fine, you could also go monero only with monero.com on your phone (it's cake wallet's monero only wallet)
For desktop I suggest the monero GUI wallet (node included) from getmonero.org (also good resource on all things monero)

For the desktop I am suing the cli wallet. I like the command line. For the cellphone I will go with your recommendations and try cake wallet.

on desktop i use cake wallet too. I have monero gui, but, how i have others coin, like nano, bitcoin, solana and monero, cake wallet work wll. to help monero, i use XMRIG, to miner.
