I'm an older part of the Millennial cohort, but grew up in poverty out in the boonies (lagged significantly behind on the tech adoption curve). I often find that I can relate better to Gen-Xers than to other Millennials.

I agree. After high school I went travelling and lived overseas for a few years. I learned another language, and became fully independent. I learnt a lot in that time and it's helped me get to where I am. I'm so thankful I did that.
