I actually really liked the remake for the updated combat but the endless nonsense side content they added really hampered the experience. I'm slightly hopeful that modders will someday take the finished product, chop out all of the BS, and stitch it back together as one complete game that more or less represents the original game. If they can make that happen, it'll be glorious.
