I have a question now about whether we will have to join the subgroups. Will the relay be prepared to know that we will already be joined in them?

I don't know. I think we shouldn't have to join them, but if we want them to be "independent" then maybe we'll have to. Wait, I think the solution is to have a soft agreement to always have these groups as "unrestricted" (i.e. to not have the "restricted" tag in them), which is the default for when...
