My take on it metaphorically - Spam or bloat to the blockchain is akin to vaccines COVID, fluoride for water etc. The people behind the crap are self serving and already do well out of fiat.
I agree with you, but I think BIP110 is an effort to filter out that spam and bloat, right?
But to take your comparison even further, I think the comparison of spam on the blockchain to socialism is even more literal. By selfishly putting arbitrary data on the blockchain that is outside the intended purpose of money, spammers are literally laying their burden onto miners and node runners. It’s basically the exact same paradigm as socialism.
The people who do the work are left bearing the burden until the system eventually collapses under the weight of those who abuse it.
