@nprofile1q... We really like ours, and answering the question, "Is this a good plan?" is her whole job. I don't THINK we explicitly pay her, either, although 'San would know for sure. I think maybe she gets a percent on the value of our investments, which incentivizes her directly to make us more valuable. Anyway, I recommend it!

So, like...

The largest datacenter in the world has been proposed for Alberta.

And the government has waived the need for it to submit an environmental impact study.

Is it just me, or does that seem like a frankly terrible idea?

I talk a lot about not being able to focus on reading, but maybe I just need to find the right books. I got the latest James S. A. Corey novel and tore through it in a few days. I remember it similar experiences with a couple of other books. So my "focus problem" may just be that the activation level for becoming obsessed with a book is higher than it used to be.

Whenever I have Mastodon open in a tab in my browser these days, it very regularly makes alert sounds, but when I switch to the tab (or if I'm already in it and refresh), there's not anything new in it. I have no idea what's triggering the alert sound and it's driving me around the bend a bit.
