i would agree, and flatten it eve further.
i think “oppressive” is the operative word cause there is a negative connotation, as in it diminishes.
like the way the chinese women would bind their feet, keeping them small even though they are adult, those bindings “oppress” them, keeping their feet from becoming what their nature would have them be.
different from my inability to breath oxygen under water. the ocean isn’t “oppressing” me since i can’t swim like a fish. so reality is a limit, yes, but it in no way prevents me from actualizing my human potential.
if there is a better word for that relation, I’d drop “oppressive” and use it.
What’s nuts, is when you consider what type of being most people act as if they are, and how they act towards reality, it will give u a good way to triangulate the type of relation thy are operating from
if they act as if their words, as if their thoughts, as if their speculative fantasies restructure the fabric of reality, you could bet your life they are gnostic
