How do we make informed decisions with the presence of psyops, disinformation campaigns & AI-assisted misinformation as elections draw closer?@

Enter KURA YAKO ✊🏾🇰🇪

We've been crunching at making this tool, a Claude/ChatGPT/Gemini for the Kenyan voter context, packed with both who is on the ballot, what are their track records, how did they vote on vital Bills in Parliament, where to vote... plus much more

And it's halfway complete!

We're inviting you to partner with us: ideation, donation or any assistance is very much welcome as this is totally self-funded thus far & we can only but be optimistic for what the future holds when we dare to dream... together

As a civic educator, safety has been amongst the most valuable item in the bucket we carry. Using Nostr and developing around it sure came at such a vital chokepoint of democratic suppression & we're honored to keep the fire burning #CEKA #HappyWeekend ✊🏾🇰🇪

We're spearheading a beautiful Nostr inspired app (www.swiftcal.top) - in collaboration with Mehret from Ethiopia - to target communities and societies needing location- tracking and SOS capabilities in territories that are facing war or suppression that hits their normal communication & location-tracking engagements.

The interface is a Calendar, but on entering your 6 digit code, you're introduced to the hidden Nostr app behind it - a beautiful suggestion by Mehret to mask the app from being picked up as a suspicious app. Now already under development & welcoming your engagement with it.

Any 6 digit code on the Calendar search bar = free access to the demo version of the app

June 25th is a key date for all Kenyans. Today, we are marking 2 years since the globally consequential June 25th protests that ignited a spark that touched as far as Nepal, Bangladesh & closer home in Uganda & Tanzania. Today, all donations will be channeled directly into supporting families of loved ones who were affected by the brutal crackdown by the Govt. on peaceful protestors & activists. #June25th #LestWeForget #CEKA | Artwork by Njoro Webbs

Learning Nostr, Bitcoin & now Hard Wallets on Day 3 of the HRF Freedom Tech Webinar with Ben from @Ben Sessions, @Win Ko Ko Aung, @Anna Chekhovich & a host of 50+ other listeners. Grateful to #HRF for this opportunity! #CEKA

During a shared session, we were challenged to make tools that respond to pertinent issues around our communities. Each team had about 30mins. Our team came up with a tool for location mapping & comm's using Nostr and the idea was to camouflage it as an everyday app with a whole hidden interface beneath it. Our calendar app is now in development here https://github.com/saemscodes/Calendar-App (feel free to send PR's, contribute code & do forks) & get to see it in action here: www.swiftcal.top

Will tag the team on the next post.

Thank you!

Wantam! ✊🏾🇰🇪
