It hadn't occurred to me people hike with headphones. Personally I like to enjoy the sounds of the nature I'm walking through, but to each their own I guess. It just feels like you're missing out on a major connection if you're glued to your ears.

@nprofile1q... @nprofile1q... Cheese and coleslaw is an S-tier sandwich filler, Neil, I'm sorry but this is a fact. You can even get coleslaw with cheese *in it already* though personally I prefer to adjust cheese to coleslaw ratio myself.

@nprofile1q... Oh hang on, disjointed and all over the place also rather defines humanity, which he set out to represent in this album. Did he (accidentally?) release a perfect work describing the state of all of us?

The medley track is just about passable, but that's it.

Such a shame, because I, too, remain a fan of the original three Tubular Bells albums.

I also stopped watching the news.

I absorb enough of the important headlines from others around me (my wife, kids, Masto posts, friends) so I don't feel ignorant and am still able to discuss current affairs should the need arise.

If I specifically want to read up on something I'll open BBC news, or follow a link to a Guardian article.

But it's on my terms.

@nprofile1q... That delay is down to how they're watching, not that they're necessarily using a smart TV.

Watching DTT (via an aerial, aka Freeview) on a smart TV isn't significantly more delayed than watching it on a dumb TV. Watching anything from a streamer (iPlayer, NowTV etc.), however, will be very delayed.
