Nostr and Mastodon both have a feature I like: custom content warnings. On Ditto specifically you can add a CW under the plus button -> Spoiler.

Don't know if any Nostriches are into Splatoon, but better safe than sorry

Codeberg, a popular GitHub alternative, just decided to completely ban AI-generated ("vibecoded") projects from their site, with the terms of service stating "You must not share projects that mostly consist of code written by generative AI tools."

All of the reasons Codeberg stated for the ban of LLM usage on the platform are politically charged at best, and other statements might be real problems that could have been solved in other ways. Also some of the public discussion that took place seemed to contain people with a personal prejudice towards AI.

This is why we need ngit, and even other distributed Git forges like Radicle or Gitlawb (2 places where Bitchat got a mirror in the India fallout). Even moving to another centralized host still means you're at the whims of someone, whether it be Microsoft or Codeberg eV.

Ok so I saw popups on my Ditto feed saying that @Sirius (the Iris guy) had apparently replicated repositories published under his organization @Sirius Business Ltd on Iris Git (hashtree) to ngit but the code is still only hosted on hashtree, no GRASP nodes. With no GRASP nodes the code can still only be viewed on Iris Git (not GitWorkshop) and requires htree to clone (not ngit).

Maybe we can add hashtree support to ngit. NIP-34 by itself is transport agnostic, git-remote-htree posts repository announcements using it.
