To verify you need a specifiction (or a theorem statement). That doesn't take an instant. The more accurate you want it to be, the harder you'll need to work for it. A machine can't do this for you because it's about expressing *your* intent.

Exactly. This is making engineers more efficient, not substituting for them. Whether this leads to less jobs (you don't need so many) or more jobs (because of increased demand for new kinds of products) is still up in the air IMO.

I know that "all we did" was more of rhetoric than a statement of fact, but the war accomplished far more than that.

And if we are being consequentialists like that, then it will take years if not decades to judge whether this war was worth it. And you need to account for externalities too, such as the downstream effect on the terrorism they fund, Russia and China, etc.

Even if you are sure enforcement won't happen, others are not.
