Monsters from the Id! Fish from the Wardrobe! Or something.

(TTRPG/Coding/Linux/Politics/Snark/Woo/ASD, in no particular order.)

Boosts are almost certainly an endorsement of *something*. Possibly not _literally_ the post in question, though.

ideally i'd like all of Linux to be free of slop. but here's the thing about the #Debian decision: it's effectively exactly the same rule as is in use by the kernel project. So if you're now thinking of moving away from Debian, but not the linux kernel, you're not being consistent.

looks like NetBSD has pledged to be "Al"-free. Or there's Haiku. or stay on linux and use Debian if you want to, and *hope* they will curate a distro that's at least free of the _worst_ of slop.

Channel 4's ADHD Myth documentary. Not sure we need to heed a psychiatrist who a) doesn't specialise in ADHD b) is a Daily Mail columnist c) Poses for photos with a stethoscope as if needing to *prove...

@nprofile1q... in general, folks can and should ignore any Channel Four documentary.

They have a long history of trash TV (although their news program is excellent): previous subjects include 'migrants', extremely fat people, and anyone with a weird disease.

I am ashamed of the fact that I’m stuck on #Rails because of the sunk costs of what I’ve already built, as are *so many* other project like Mastodon. We cannot “just move”, the cost is enormo...

@nprofile1q... forking rails would be a hell of a statement. it would be a lot of work, but worth it, i think.

but we shouldn't think it will completely solve the problem, because, practically speaking, who is pulling the strings at Ruby Central these days?

asking for #advice again, sorry.

i'm now officially #diabetic (type 2) and looking to control it with diet. (hence the last request for advice.)

information about nutrition on the internet has always been a hot mess, more so in these days of so-called "Al".

can anyone reccomend an _authoritative_ source on the amount of carbohydrate in basic foods?

searching online i see *wildly* different numbers for, eg, potato.

i don't mind buying a book.

feel free to boost.
