Can a person have a condition whereby a vegan diet + supplements will cause them to become malnourished? (I was pretty sure not, but just met someone who said otherwise)

@nprofile1q... it's hard to imagine but my partner has a bad reaction to legumes and pulses so maybe there was an issue like that and they were struggling to absorb enough nutrients or something? Or they went too fast into it and their gut biome couldn't handle the increase in fiber? Or maybe they were only eating shitty ultra processed vegan food?

@nprofile1q... if you have netflix, there's a cooking show on it called the Chef Show. I think it was the last episode of the first season where they bring on Christina Tosi from Milk Bar and she does a bunch of bakes. What I love about the episode is how infectious her passion is. She gets it that what people want from sweets is often rooted in nostalgia and comfort.

@nprofile1q... I literally laughed out loud. Those images are amazing and so was the investigation. I never questioned not having samples energized in SEM and samples were usually coated anyway, but it was cool to see the energy being used for imaging the vulnerability.

@nprofile1q... wow I assumed your probes were things you were making for work. Your $dayjob sounds really interesting. So like a lot of the same techniques used in FA but oriented towards security? Feel free not to answer but I've always been curious about if there is software to take a circuit board cat scan and create a schematic from connected nodes. I'd imagine there'd be analogous work at the silicon level too.
