It's not so much that solar power is cheaper than gas, it's that the infrastructure that's needed to convert from fossil fuels to renewables in any meaningful amount of time would bankrupt the entities during the conversion process. That's a significant issue for everyone dependent on them, which is most people, and would kill our international trade, which we are dependent on.
