@nprofile1q... The social rule is to look up to the rich for they represent what you should want, a lot of myths behind why but the goal is to be them. The poor meanwhile aren't trusted because being poor is a personal failing, there's also fear because the poor aren't treated well and that fear keeps people away from becoming them.

After everything though, it's the rich constantly kicking down and those below kicking down too all at the request of the rich telling them not to punch up.

@nprofile1q... The issue of loneliness has solutions but I feel like when people feel alone they're easily swayed into joining groups that lack of social cohesion invites and encourages. White supremacy groups, trad culture, manosphere, Reform/Restore if you want a more socially acceptable type of fascism.

@nprofile1q... The patriarchy has a rape apologist problem? The same one that has a heavy influence of rape culture? How could this have happened? I'll assume "she brought it on herself" and "boys will be boys" were mentioned at some point.

Blaming benefit recipients is so easy though, people already think they're too generous based on some anecdotal nonsense and would go with the idea of punishing the workshy as they see them. Works well in favour of the big corporate donors who need cheap bodies to do underpaid work and on the surface gets people off one sort of benefit though puts them on a different benefit and costs more to run.

Education's a whole other thing though especially when you're already telling people in education their jobs will be done by AI anyway so get good at tending to these error-prone job-stealers.

@nprofile1q... Will they fix it? Many entry-level jobs simply no longer exist and you also need to make sure that both work will be worth something which isn't what they're getting and also that their training will result in work which is shrinking with AI plaguing every stage of the process of getting work if the work even exists.

@nprofile1q... There probably will come a time when the EU simply cuts Westminster off if they keep going like this, especially if they forge stronger links with the US and Russia.

@nprofile1q... Does feel like they're taking the wrong approach figuring a simple age barrier is enough without dealing with the problems of social media affecting everyone. The trouble with their solution is akin to needing to provide photo ID that they'll keep a copy of and allowing them to keep a photograph they took of you just to get into a place which sells tobacco products regardless of if you'll be buying any or not. Simplifying that by providing that info automatically isn't a solution either because it's still fundamentally a huge overreach.

The social media is the problem, clean the social media first or will it just be like the tobacco industry where their wealth allows them to keep selling and it's the people who need to adjust?

@nprofile1q... Well, "imported" through extensive lobbying from US far-right outfits looking to eliminate trans people from public life. I know we think it's all due to one horrid novelist but she's just one part of the overall campaign.

@nprofile1q... Didn't the same thing happen in a few other countries? I know the US basically has a one-party system because the supposed opposition is likely to do something very similar to the current leading party but with the pretence of some democracy rather than none. Don't think we even have that with the two most popular parties being further right than Thatcher at best.
